What I do

Two kinds of clients. One operator who's lived both.

The rigor that grows a brand is the rigor that builds a life. I bring the same discipline to a company's go-to-market as I do to an individual's health, focus, and finances.

For Businesses

Growth, built by someone who's done it.

I spent a decade running brand, media, and partnerships for a premium global brand. Now I bring that playbook to companies ready to scale.

  • Strategy & go-to-market
  • Brand building
  • Marketing & PR / media relations
  • Partnerships & sponsorships
  • Product launches
  • Ambassador programs
  • Range & training-program development
For Individuals

A stronger life, engineered.

The same discipline, focused on you — a practical system for the parts of life that actually move the needle, with honest accountability.

  • Life & productivity
  • Health & fitness
  • Financial clarity
  • Goals & accountability
  • Career & personal brand

About

The background behind the advice.

Evan Dextraze spent over a decade at Swarovski Optik North America — one of the world's most respected optics brands — most recently as Senior Media Relations Specialist, running sponsored-shooter and ambassador programs, product launches, and media relations across the U.S. and Canada.

He's a co-founder of The Ultimate Hunting Experience and Kill Shot Central, and the owner of Dextraze Ventures. As an NRA Training Counselor, he trains and certifies other instructors, designs course curricula for facilities, and helps new businesses stand up their ranges and training programs from the ground up.

In 2026 he published The Question Before the Question — a book about the half-second before you start solving, and the six-step method he uses to read a situation before deciding what the problem actually is.

He doesn't just advise on brand, growth, and discipline — he's built them, in business and in his own life.

Lived it, not just studied it.

Why Dextraze Ventures

Counsel you can act on.

Lived, not theorized

A real operator's track record — not a framework pulled off a shelf.

Two sides, one discipline

The system that grows a brand is the system that builds a life.

Honest counsel

You'll hear the truth, not what's easy — especially when it matters most.

Systems that stick

Plans you'll actually run, built to outlast the engagement.

Track record

Proof, not promises.

Eleven years inside this industry, not commentating on it from the outside.

11years

In the optics industry — running a national ambassador program, product launches and media relations.

499students

Trained across 75 courses as an NRA Training Counselor — the credential that certifies other instructors.

Knowledge vs. Wisdom: Why Information Alone Won’t Build Your Empire (or Your Life)

We live in an era overflowing with data. In a matter of seconds, you can access thousands of business growth strategies, fitness protocols, financial modeling frameworks, and productivity hacks. Yet, despite having more information at our fingertips than any generation in human history, burnout is at an all-time high, business initiatives stall, and personal growth often falters. Why?

The answer lies in a fundamental distinction that separates those who merely collect ideas from those who achieve lasting, multi-dimensional mastery: the difference between Knowledge and Wisdom.

1. Defining the Gap: Knowing the Path vs. Walking It

At its core, knowledge is the acquisition of facts, concepts, and mechanics. It answers the questions, “What is true?” and “How does this work?” Knowledge is reading ten books on management, calculating exact macro targets, or understanding every lean workflow theory.

Wisdom, on the other hand, is the disciplined application of knowledge filtered through discernment, real-world execution, and holistic perspective. Wisdom answers the questions, “What matters right now?” and “Should I do this?”

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad. In business and life, wisdom is knowing how to deploy your assets and energy for maximum return without burning down the house.

2. Wisdom Across the Core Pillars of Performance

At Dextraze Ventures, our consulting and coaching framework centers on total integration—aligning enterprise success with individual vitality. High performance in business cannot survive without personal health, and personal growth requires structured efficiency. Here is how raw knowledge evolves into practical wisdom across the key areas of performance:

Business & Strategy
Knowledge: Memorizing 20 growth strategies, sales tactics, and organizational structures.
Wisdom: Discerning the single operational lever that drives 80% of profitable scale while maintaining culture and margin.
Personal Finances
Knowledge: Tracking market trends, asset classes, and yield curves.
Wisdom: Structuring capital allocation to build true resilience, long-term security, and personal freedom.
Health & Fitness
Knowledge: Knowing the exact biochemistry of nutrition and exercise physiology.
Wisdom: Listening to bio-feedback, balancing high performance with deliberate recovery, and building a physical engine that sustains executive capacity.
Efficiency & Productivity
Knowledge: Filling every white block on a digital calendar with color-coded tasks.
Wisdom: Protecting high-value deep work, ruthlessly eliminating low-value friction, and executing on high-impact priorities.
Overall Well-Being
Knowledge: Reading about mindfulness, stress management, and work-life integration.
Wisdom: Establishing non-negotiable boundaries, managing energy rather than just time, and living in complete alignment with your long-term goals.

3. Turning Raw Knowledge into Applied Wisdom

If knowledge is accumulated, wisdom is refined. To transition from a passive collector of information to a high-performing executor, adopt these three core practices:

  1. Audit your consumption-to-execution ratio. Stop consuming endless information if you haven’t implemented the lessons from your last insight. Prioritize depth of execution over volume of inputs.
  2. Institute reflective feedback loops. Experience alone doesn’t generate wisdom—evaluated experience does. Weekly reviews of business metrics, personal habits, and energy levels let you extract actionable truth.
  3. Seek contextual alignment. A tactic that works for a venture-backed startup could wreck a lean enterprise. Wisdom is evaluating whether an action fits your current stage, resources, and vision.

4. The Dextraze Ventures Advantage

Most business leaders and ambitious individuals don’t fail due to a lack of information. They fail due to fragmentation—attempting to solve enterprise challenges while exhausted, or chasing financial metrics at the expense of health and personal fulfillment.

At Dextraze Ventures, we bridge the gap between knowing and doing. We partner with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and driven individuals to refine complex information into clear, tailored strategies across business, finance, fitness, efficiency, and well-being.

Courses

Self-Paced Courses

Work through it on your own time. Lessons, exercises on your own decisions, a quiz at the end of each module, and a certificate when you finish.

DEXTRAZE VENTURES GROUND The method, drilled.
Free · Self-paced · Certificate on completion

The GROUND Method

Six steps for reading a situation before you decide what the problem is. The book makes the case and tells the stories; this course drills the move. One module per letter, an exercise you run on a decision actually in front of you, and a quiz you have to pass before the next module opens.

  • 6 modules
  • Final exam
  • About 1 hour
  • No cost
  • Separate what you know from what you were told and what you assumed — and find the facts the decision actually rests on.
  • Range a decision on both axes, and spot the small-but-irreversible corner people rush.
  • Run four reads on the people who matter, including yourself.
  • Hunt the factor nobody put on the board, and build margin for the ones you'll never find.
  • Put the real question in one sentence that passes all four marks.
  • Commit properly, then judge the read instead of the result.

Enroll with your name and email. Your name goes on the certificate.

Two honest notes. The certificate is a Dextraze Ventures certificate of completion — it records that you finished this course. It is not an accredited qualification, a professional license, or an NRA credential, and it doesn't claim to be. And your progress is saved in this browser: switch device or clear your site data and you'll start over. Your enrollment and your completion are recorded properly; the half-finished state isn't.

The Book

The Question Before the Question

How to read a situation before you decide what to solve.

EVAN DEXTRAZE THE QUESTION BEFORE THE QUESTION How to read a situation before you decide what to solve

The most expensive mistakes aren’t wrong answers. They’re right answers to the wrong question.

A room of capable people once spent a long time on a question that could not be answered — not by anyone, at any level of skill — until somebody established one missing fact. Then the real question named itself.

Evan has seen it happen on firing lines, in hunting camps, and in rooms where capable people spent months answering something the situation never asked. The failure is rarely bad logic. It’s a question nobody checked.

This is the method he built from it. Six steps — GROUND — for reading a situation before you decide what to solve.

It will not make you right. Nothing does. It will make you aimed correctly — so your effort lands on the real thing instead of a nearby thing that looks like it.

The book is at proof. Leave an email and you’ll get one note the day it’s available — nothing else, ever.

The method

GROUND — six steps.

Run them in order. The first five build the read. The sixth closes it out and teaches you something for next time.

G

Get to ground truth

Know what is actually true — as opposed to what you were told, or assumed.

R

Range the stakes

Find what you can’t take back. This is the dial that tells you how hard to work.

O

Observe the people

Read the half nobody says out loud — what they want, know, fear, and won’t admit.

U

Uncover the unknowns

Hunt what isn’t on the board. What would have to be true for this to blow up?

N

Name the real question

In one sentence, out loud. The read has a finish line, and the finish line is the question.

D

Decide & debrief

Commit, then judge the read — not the result. A good call can still lose.

Inside

What’s in it.

Eleven chapters in three parts, plus a one-page range card you can keep on the desk.

Part One

Why Context Comes First

How capable people end up solving the wrong thing, and the five tells that you’re on the wrong question.

  1. The Map Is Not the Range
  2. The Right Answer to the Wrong Question
  3. The Question That Names Itself
Part Two

The GROUND Method

A chapter for each letter — what it asks, how to run it, and how you know when you’re done.

  1. Check the Chamber Yourself
  2. The Shot You Can’t Take Back
  3. The Half They Won’t Say Out Loud
  4. The Factor Nobody Put on the Board
  5. Put It in One Sentence
  6. Judge the Read, Not the Result
Part Three

Running It in Real Weather

Speed, pressure, and the ten-second compressed read — what to cut when there is no time, and the two things that never compress.

  1. Read It Before You Need It
  2. When You’re Standing In It

FAQ

Questions & Answers

Straight answers to what most people ask before we work together.

What does Dextraze Ventures actually do?
Two things. On the business side: consulting in strategy, brand, marketing, PR, partnerships, and go-to-market — with deep roots in the outdoor, hunting, and firearms world. On the individual side: high-performance coaching that integrates the whole person — work, health, finances, productivity, and well-being. The through-line is turning knowledge into execution.
Who do you work best with?
Businesses: outdoor, hunting, firearms, and optics brands — plus companies in any space that need senior marketing and partnership horsepower. Individuals: ambitious young professionals, emerging entrepreneurs, and early-stage leaders who want clarity, systems, and total life integration.
How can we work together?
For businesses, three flexible models: part-time embedded support, a monthly consulting retainer, or project-by-project engagements. For individuals, the 12-Week Foundational Performance Blueprint — a structured coaching program — or a custom coaching engagement designed around your specific goals if the set program isn’t the right fit. We match the format to where you are.
What does it cost?
It depends on the engagement. Consulting is priced to fit the work — hourly, by project, or on a monthly retainer — so you invest only in what you actually need. Structured coaching programs carry their own set pricing (see the Programs page). The simplest path: book a short call — it’s free — and I’ll recommend the right model and give you clear numbers for your situation.
Do you work remotely?
Yes — everything runs remotely (video calls, plus voice/text support between sessions) on a flexible schedule. I travel periodically to host events for The Ultimate Hunting Experience, and I coordinate around that so it never disrupts your priorities.
I’m not in the outdoor or firearms industry — can you still help?
Absolutely. The brand, marketing, and partnership principles are universal, and the coaching framework applies to anyone. The outdoor and firearms space is simply where I have the deepest network and lived experience.
Why you? What makes your approach different?
I’m an operator, not a theorist. I spent over a decade at Swarovski Optik running ambassador programs, product launches, and media relations for a premium global brand — and I’ve built businesses and disciplined systems in my own life. I bridge the gap between knowing and doing, and I treat business success and personal vitality as one integrated system.
I already have plenty of information — why would I need a coach or consultant?
Because information isn’t the bottleneck — execution is. Most people stall from fragmentation and a lack of accountability, not a lack of ideas. My job is to help you cut to the highest-leverage moves and actually run them, consistently.
What’s the time commitment for the coaching program?
Plan on 3–5 hours per week implementing outside our live calls, plus your weekly session. The program only works if you do the work — which is exactly why it carries a completion-based guarantee.
Do you guarantee results?
For the Foundational Performance Blueprint, yes: if you complete every weekly task, log your metrics, and attend every session, and you don’t feel you’ve gained real clarity and systemization in 90 days, I keep coaching you at no additional cost until you do. Business outcomes depend on many factors, so there I focus on honest counsel and the work that actually moves the needle.
How do we get started?
Book a free consultation. We’ll spend 20–30 minutes on where you are and where you want to go, and I’ll recommend the right path — no pressure, no hard sell.

What this site collects, why, and how to make it stop.

The short version. This site collects an email address only when you type one into a form and press the button. Nothing is bought, sold, rented or shared. There is no advertising network on this site and no cross-site tracking.

What gets collected

There are three places you can hand over information, and all three are optional:

  • Book notifications — your email address, so you can be told once when The Question Before the Question is available.
  • The GROUND range card — your email address, in exchange for the download.
  • Course enrollment — your name and email address. The name is used to print your certificate. If you finish the course, your name, email, score and certificate ID are recorded so the certificate can be verified later.

Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site. Netlify also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

Your course progress stays on your device

Which modules you have finished and what you scored are saved in your own browser's local storage. That data never leaves your device and is not visible to anyone else, including us. Clearing your browser data erases it, and there is no way to restore it.

What it is used for

Your email is used to send you the thing you asked for, and occasionally to tell you about new writing, courses or offerings from Dextraze Ventures. That is the whole list. It is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.

How long it is kept

Contact details are kept until you ask for them to be removed. Course completion records are kept indefinitely so a certificate can be checked against its ID.

Your choices

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — including your completion record. Email hello@dextrazeventures.com and it will be handled. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or the CCPA; those requests go to the same address.
